Our philosophy places great importance on blending cultural and culinary traditions with the novel solutions offered by our modern age. We aim to showcase how the past and present can coexist harmoniously, whether through architecture, interior design, or food and drink. We built the modern structure of Newtown Bistro (Újváros Bisztró) from the ground up on a plot along the bank of the Holt-Körös in Szarvas, surrounded by protected bald cypress trees. From our terrace, the old town unfolds before us, featuring the Millennium Monument and Bolza Castle. The building’s interior design also brings the past and present into harmony: the Ravenna-origin marble mosaic flooring pays tribute both to the Italian heritage of the Bolza family, who significantly shaped Szarvas’ history, and to the innovations of modern interior design. This fusion of past and present is equally evident in our kitchen. We revive the bistro tradition, which has represented casual elegance since the 18th century, in a modern, urban environment, blending traditional dishes with new concepts.
Our innovative contemporary Hungarian restaurant, led by Chef Zoltán Piltz, invites lovers of gastronomy for lunch and dinner, accompanied by a unique drink selection featuring domestic and international wines, modern cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.
